Super Problem Child Flaming Charisma Hisashi Mitsui (or Jeong Daeman for the Korean dub, as I have had to learn thanks to fanartists) is the last of the Shohoku Starting 5 to be introduced in Takehiko Inoue's masterpiece Slam Dunk, which is insane because his rizz is off the charts from the moment Ryota punches his stupid greasy punk face for the first time. I kept being like "why's this nobody so hot for nothing?!" It wasn't for nothing. Inoue was cooking.

Mitsui's a fallen star brat who peaked as a middle school MVP and took out his own petty self-inflicted sports injury on everyone around him. He was taken in by some sexy 80s delinquient yakuza-lite riffraff which made him sexier but ALSO made him worse at his favorite thing: basketball :( . . . THATS WHAT YOU GET YOU FUCKING LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this dumbass a whole fucking lot because he blows his load early in the game (bad stamina after two years of smoking and punk thingz) but he can still score a 3 pointer even when he's shaking, sweating, and throwing up!!!!!!!! He's got a quick temper and he is VERY dumb and VERY hot and is missing his two front teeth and his punk gang follows him around and cheers for him at every game!!! He really loves and respects Coach Anzai more than anyone in the world. He rules. Perfect character. HE JUST WANTS TO PLAY BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can also ship him with everyone. My favorites are Ryota Miyagi (obvi), Kogure (stern megane girlfriend – fun fact, this was also Fumi Yoshinaga's ship! she made doujins!!!), Tetsuo (riffraff bad influence boyfriend), and Yohei (there's enemies to lovers sauce there).

Even tho I've basically described his entire plot here, it's impossible to capture the overwhelming delight it is to watch his story unfold like 50 chapters/20+ episodes into Slam Dunk. He really is an incredible character and people love this asshole!!!!!!!! Good for you, Mitchan!!!!
